Learning2005 - Americans about blogs and wikis

I just finished my first interactive session/discussion at Learning2005 in Orlando. The result: I am a little bit disappointed. The reason: there were more than 90 people in the session about blogs and wikis, making discussion and interaction almost impossible. Although these crowds indicate a strong interest in this topic, many of the people did not have an idea what are wikis and weblogs all about. E.g. the trackback functionality - in my opinion one of the most important innovations of weblogs at all - did not play any role within the discussion. In Europe we always hear how far advanced Americans are regarding the usage of wikis and weblogs. Stay calm - after all I saw they are not that further than we are in Europe. At least not regarding its usage for training and learning. However, I have to leave. Next session starts in a few minutes…
