Learning 2005 - only 2 days to go

On Saturday I will leave for Orlando/Florida to participate at Learning 2005. I intentionally chose the word “participate” as in my opinion so far this event will be different from other boring trade-show-conferences. Elliot Masie is really trying hard to make this a special event. What’s so special about it? Well, they set up a social networking tool that helps you to find colleagues that are facing the same challenges as you do or that can help you solving your problems. I can already approve: this works fairly well. Furthermore, the whole event with more than 1500 participants will be split up into an innumerable number of small interactive breakout sessions with a short teaser in the beginning followed by group work in workshop atmosphere. At least this is what is communicated beforehand the event. Each session’s result will be just one page after what they call the “1 Pager Model“. Weblogs and Wikis in a learning context will also be a topic. They also set up a wiki for the event where you can post questions and suggestions regarding the sessions. Whatever topics I will choose - I am really keen to see how this format of a conference works. I will let you know more about the event and the content when I am in Orlando.
